Elizabethan 'bodies', or corsets, made for JMD&Co at Hampton Court

The pattern for the pair of bodies above was based on the pair made for Elizabeth I's effigy in Westminster. They are covered in a silk damask and bound with soft suede.

A pair of bodies was based on the painting of Elizabeth Vernon, Countess of Southampton c1595-1600 by an unknown artist. Made in linen canvas covered with silk taffeta and boned with a mixture of plastic and steel bones.

A pair of bodies based on the1598 pair in the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum, Munich

Another pair based on the effigy pattern, but with very little boning as they were designed to be worn by a lower ranking servant.
